Starts as a cute Zelda-like. Reveals itself to be something considerably stranger and more rewarding. The in-game manual mechanic is the best tutorial design I've seen — it treats you like an intelligent adult discovering a game you can't read. The late-game difficulty spike almost broke me. Worth it. This weird little fox game is genuinely special.

I need to describe this game without describing it. It is nominally a deckbuilder. It is actually several other things that I will not name. If you've played Pony Island or other Daniel Mullins work, you know roughly what to expect. If you haven't: go in completely blind. This is the most genuinely surprised I've been by a game in years. The moment I realized what was happening was one of those rare things.

The only game I can think of that is measurably better the less you know about it. I discovered it by accident and I'm still annoyed I read even one review before starting. The Ash Twin Project sequence is the finest moment in video game storytelling I've encountered, and I play a lot of games. Also the music is perfect. Don't let anyone tell you anything.
