Data sources and credits

Where GameDeck's catalog information comes from, and what GameDeck creates.

IGDB / Twitch

Game data provided by IGDB, a Twitch service. Visit igdb.com.

IGDB supplies the metadata, cover art, release dates, genres, and platforms shown throughout GameDeck. It also supplies completion-time data when available.

Steam

The Steam Web API provides optional library import for people who link their Steam account. Linking is opt-in.

Steam data is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

Valve does not endorse GameDeck. GameDeck is not affiliated with Valve or Steam.

HowLongToBeat

HowLongToBeat was the source of archived completion-time estimates stored for older games.

Live retrieval from HowLongToBeat is retired. GameDeck does not refresh those values from HowLongToBeat, and newly added games do not receive HowLongToBeat estimates.

GameDeck now uses IGDB for completion-time data when available. During this transition, an older game can still display an archived HowLongToBeat value until that catalog record is refreshed or cleared.

GameDeck and its players

GameDeck generates its own rankings, Tonight's Pick, and taste matching from catalog data and activity on GameDeck. These are GameDeck calculations, not data supplied by the services above.

Everything you log in GameDeck comes from you: library statuses, ratings, reviews, lists, favorites, playtime, and notes.
